1737 MAIN
1737 Main is a simple, single-story block building. Through a few creative moves, Botwin recontextualized the building without damaging its minimalist character. The “moves” included commissioning artist Jim Woodfill to design Durolux, an exterior lighting installation. At first glance, the installation resembles somewhat standard architectural motifs (fluorescent lights, metal fixtures, straight lines), but given some time, the corner light begins to spin, subtly altering shadow/light.
